The greater bird of paradise is found in new guinea and Aru islands in Indonesia. The male is as long as 43 cm. and has wings the average size of 232 mm. The female is as long as 35 cm. and has wings the average size of 202 mm. They are mostly located in the lower canopy of tall forests. The bird builds the nest on branches and in holes of a tree. The bird mostly eats fruit, seeds, and small insects. Up to 20 males gather in the canopy to perform for females Breeding lasts from August till December. The bird is considered least threatened according to the IUCN Red List Of Threatened Species.
